Ex-situ applications

Sites that have the contaminated soil stored above ground can be quickly degraded using bioremediation.  A large variety of contaminants including diesel, gasoline, waste oil, creosote, PCB and other organic waste can be cleaned up on site at a fraction of the cost of other types of treatment.  Open excavations can be used as a container for treatment in certain conditions.  Treatment time usually 30 to 60 days.  The following projects provide a representative sample of above ground sites in California we have remediated and closed using bioremediation and land farming techniques.

Examples:

Diesel:  Oxnard, CA - Industrial Redevelopment
Silty sand - Weathered gasoline & diesel TPH over 5,000 ppm.  1,200 cubic yards.  Landfarm.  Clean in 30 days.  Site Closed.

Hydraulic Oil:  Paramount, CA - Metals  Fabricator
Cutting oils and solvents from drum storage.  Sandy silt.  TPH levels over 83,000 ppm.  1,200 cubic yards.  Levels reduced 95% in 30 days.

Jet A Fuel:  Riverside, CA - Airport
Decomposed Granite - Jet A fuel TPH up to 15,000 ppm  under 100 ppm in 45 days.  Site Closed

Waste Oil:  San Diego, CA - Concrete Plant
Clay soil contaminated with waste oil levels up to 9,600 ppm. Six weeks after treatment began TPH levels were reduced by 90%. Site closed.

Weathered Gasoline:  San Juan Capistrano
Diesel and Weathered Gasoline with TPH levels > 5,000 ppm in Silty Sand.  Closed at < 10 ppm.  Cleaned up in 45 days.  Site closed.
